FITZGERALD LANE

Fitzgerald Lane looking spectacular!

We are inviting residents to take a walk down memory lane with the installation of a new photographic exhibition in the Nowra CBD.

The exhibition has seen Council join with the Shoalhaven Historical Society in filling Fitzgerald Laneway with historical images of the Nowra CBD as part of the ongoing Nowra Alive revitalisation project.

The historical photos include images of the Waratah March, Empire Day in 1906, the original Nowra Pool in the Shoalhaven River as well as location shots of Junction Street, Osborne Street, the Nowra Bridge and Greys Beach in the early 1900s.

The images capture the remarkable changes that have taken place in the CBD across the past 100 years and feature many of Nowra’s most historical sites and locations.

The Historic Laneway concept, like the entire Nowra Alive scheme, is an ongoing organic project with plans already in place to expand and build on the image bank.

Fitzgerald Lane is located off Kinghorn Street and leads into the large carpark on the south side behind Junction Street. View Map.
